Life-changing Hair Products for Damaged Hair

Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to another Health and Beauty post. Today's post is going to be all about our hair and what products we, at the ME Project team, recommend for dry and damaged hair. You can find most of the products we list online, whether it be Amazon, Walmart, or the respective brand's website. Just because our time inside our homes has increased, doesn't mean we should care less about appearances! Of course, (not meaning superficially) just to ensure we stay clean and happy while at home.

Disclaimer: Please remember these our are personal opinions and recommendations, these products have worked for us and it may not work the same for every person.

1. OLAPLEX NO.3

Olaplex No. 3 is the H O L Y G R A I L of all hair products (PERIODTTT) that claim to restore damaged, colour-treated hair. Priced at $30 - $35 CDN, this product can do you no wrong; it targets to both strengthen hair and reduce breakage, bringing back your hair's natural bounce and feel. This little miracle in a bottle has repaired my dry and damaged hair, and made it look and feel soft and healthy, which something hard to come by in a bottle. No matter how long you use this product, it will never damage your hair (again).

2. SOLU Sea Salt Scrub Shampoo

One company I have discovered during quarantine is Davines! They are a beauty company founded in Italy in the 80s (so, yk they're legit!). Their focus is on desirable ethics and sustainable beauty -from product itself to packaging. One of my favourite products is the scrub shampoo! Everyone and I mean everyone (doesn't matter what hair type you have) needs this. It's a clarifying shampoo that removes any impurities from your scalp. It's made with natural ingredients that I even use it as a body scrub, sometimes. Use this once a week and you'll be sure that your hair will be squeaky clean.

If you're in Canada, check out Yellow Clover Studio to get your hands on this and more Davines products!

3. It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in conditioner

This product truly is a miracle worker when it comes to repairing your brittle and dry locks. It is a 10 in 1 product. It adds shine, smooths and controls frizz, seals and protect colour, detangles, prevents spit ends, stops breakage, adds silkiness, enhances natural body to the hair, protects from heat and etc. This can be used alone as a leave in treatment or as a thermal protectant. They even have a 10 in 1 plus keratin version which also helps restore your hair's strength and shine.

4. Shea Moisture's Manuka Honey Moisture Mask

Shea Moisture is known for their organic hair products that actually works very well. We highly recommend checking out their line and seeing what other products they have to offer because they are 100% worth it. This hair mask in particular is made out of organic shea butter, mafura oil, baobab oil, and fig to help repair dry hair. It also has organic manuka honey and vitamin c to deeply hydrate and moisturize each follicle, and protect the hair from enviromental stressors.

5. HAIRSTORY Scalp Brush

Not sure if you've heard of scalp scrubber/brushes? If you haven't, you need to get one. NOW. Scalp brushes are used in-shower to massage your scalp while shampooing your hair. Massaging your scalp can help promote blood circulation, helps get rid of impurities and buildup. Finding the right scalp brush that's not too stiff (or too soft), can be a long journey. But, I've found that the HAIRSTORY scalp brush has the perfect balance of being stiff enough to penetrate your scalp, while being soft enough that it doesn't irritate or hurt.

6. Lightweight microfiber hair towel

microfiber towel

This may be the most interesting product from our list of recommendations today, but I swear by this one. I deal with frizzy and wavy hair that takes FOREVER to dry because each strand of hair is thick (and I have a lot of it). I used to think that I was just doomed to deal with my frizzy hair for the rest of my life until I started using microfiber hair towels. You can also use a shirt that is 100% cotton it will do the a similar job. Basically what this towel does is that it absorbs all the water from your hair after your shower and it does it in half the time that a towel normally would. This also helps eliminate frizzy hair when you air dry your hair. It is a miracle worker and it is highly recommended if you have thick and frizzy hair like me.

7. Maui Moisture: Shampoo, Conditioner & Hair Mask

For my girls with dry, and damaged curly hair. This. is. the. product. for. you. Inexpensive and highly effective, this product has been amazing for my hair! Not to mention, it smells great. My hair hasn't been its healthiest recently, nor has my diet, but when I started using Maui Moisture, I noticed that my curls started to shine a bit more and stay together. It's not preventing frizz but it does keep my hair healthy and shiny. With no parabens, sulfates, or silicones, it moisturizes my strands, mends my split-ends, and promotes healthy growth.

Thanks for taking the time to read through this post! Please comment down below if you try any of the products we've suggested, or have already tried them yourselves. Don't forget to share this post with a friend if you found it helpful, it will greatly support our website :) Have a safe and beautiful day!

Ciao,
