Summer-Proof Products & Tips

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

Hello! Summer is in full swing and we know it because we are starting to sweat in places we never thought could sweat. Over the years we have learned that there are certain products that work best at keeping our oil and sweat at bay. We have listed some of our essential summer sweat-proof products down below. We've also listed some tried and true tips that you can use so you can look fresh all summer long.

Mattifying Setting Sprays

The Urban decay all nighter setting spray and Rimmel Prime and Go setting spray. I've been using these two setting sprays for years. They are both very good with keeping your makeup on all day. The nozzle on both products distribute an even spray to ensure that your look is not disrupted. I use the setting sprays before I apply any base foundation or concealer, and then once again after I apply my powder products. This technique helps to ensure that your makeup is budge proof.

Blotting Sheets

The Tatcha and Boscia blotting sheets are some of my favourite blotting sheets for the summer. The Tatcha blotting sheet has powder on every sheet, so you can blot and also mattify your tzone at the same time. Each sheet is designed not to disrupt your makeup but only to get rid of the oil and sweat all of us tend to build up at the end of the day. Meanwhile, the Boscia blotting sheets absorb oil very easily without the extra pull on your skin. It soothes your skin at the same time and does not budge your makeup!

Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream

This is hands down the best drugstore BB cream I've tried, which is especially fitting for the summer season as it gives you a matte look without the heavy feeling on your face. It has light-medium coverage but you can build it up without looking cakey. Covergirl uses a water-based formula with so you'll stay looking shine-free the whole day!

Cheek Tint / Cream Blush

Benetint and Ilia Color Haze Multi-use pigment are some of my favourite blushes that I use all year round but are especially good for summer. The Benetint is perfect on its own if you are going for a "no makeup makeup look" or on top of powder. It will leave your cheeks looking naturally flushed, and since it is a tint, it will stay on all day until you wash your face. The llia Color Haze Multi-use pigment is a recent purchase of mine that I have been loving as well! It is multipurpose, you can use it as a blush or as a lip tint. It is perfect to have on the go as well for touch ups. Using a tint or a cream blush for summer is a great hack because your look will stay fresh, dewy and natural.

I hope these products and tips can help you achieve fresh, glowing skin even under the blistering summer heat! Let us know what products you'll try, and if you do, share with us in the comments below or tag us on Instagram @themeprj! If you know any more tips and tricks, share them with us! Stay tuned for tomorrow's post as we'll be starting a new monthly series! See y'all tomorrow! Stay fresh ;)
